Watching the ice skaters in Millennium Park
I love Chicago at Christmas—Michigan Avenue is all lights and holiday windows, families are out skating together in Millennium Park, and every single year I get so caught up in the holiday spirit that I buy an overpriced cup of mulled wine at the Christkindlmarket before I remember I don't actually like mulled wine.
We made an unexpected 24-hour stop in the Windy City on our way back from Thanksgiving in Minneapolis, and had a chance to soak up some of the holiday magic. It's a bit stressful changing your travel plans at the last minute when you're with a dog, but thankfully for us, Chicago has great pet-friendly hotels. My very favorite is The Thompson Chicago and I am dying to stay at the new Virgin Hotel Chicago, but we opted for The Westin Chicago River North, which had a good last-minute rate and no pet fees. 🙌🏻
Below are some of our pictures enjoying the beautiful city with Dave. Chicago friends, tell us what we missed in the comments. Happy holidays, everyone!
