11 Funny Dog Costumes That Don't Require DIY

Dave's first Halloween

Dave's first Halloween

At some point I'll definitely deny I ever said this, but I kind of hate DIY.

Here's the thing—I want to like DIY. I love looking at pictures of other people's DIY (hello, Pinterest!), but tackling my own DIY projects is almost always disappointing and expensive. I set out to make something and it comes together looking nothing like I imagined it would. And I'm left with a bunch of expensive glue all over my hands—instead of on my project—and a pile of bent pipe-cleaners and some stinky half-empty oil paint tubes. (Okay, that's a made-up example, but that's how it feels like all my DIY projects end.)

Anyway, Halloween is coming fast and as much as I am deeply inspired by people who can DIY an exceptional dog costume (see the Tompkins Square Park Costume Parade if you want some peer pressure), consider this slideshow your trick-or-treat cheat.

Let us know what we missed in the comments. And if you have a hack to make me love DIY, just lemmeknow and change my life already.

xoxo Heather
