5 Reasons Why I Loved My First BlogPaws (And Why I'll be Back Next Year!)

Everything you need to know about attending the pup-ular pet blogger and influencer conference as a newbie.

I can hardly believe it's been almost a week since my first-ever trip to BlogPaws! Those of you who were following my Instagram Stories last week know that I was invited to attend the conference as a guest of our pals at Whisk & Wag. I love working with their team and also love meeting cute pups, so saying yes was a no-brainer.

During the conference, many of you guys slid into my DMs saying that you were thinking of attending next year and were wondering if (as a newbie) I thought the conference was worthwhile. Obviously everyone has different interests, but for me, it was truly invaluable. Here's why I loved attending... and why I'm planning to go back next year.

#1 I got to hang out with one of My favorite dog brands.

We šŸ˜ Whisk & Wag

Guys, let's be honestā€”sometimes it's really hard to tell if people actually like the products they recommend online. (Hello, detox teas!) I get it; I'm skeptical, too. But I just want to go on the record and say that I really-truly love Whisk & Wag's treat mixes. They're super easy to cook, the pups are obsessed with them, and they have great skin and coat benefits. It was seriously fun to be at BlogPaws repping a brand that I so wholeheartedly endorse.

Because Whisk & Wag treats are so easy to make (just add oil and water!) we were able to bake them in the expo hall. I got to tag-team the baking process with Whisk & Wag's marketing wonder-woman, Abby, and hand out treats to all the pups who stopped by (pics here). Is there anything better than giving treats to cute dogs?

#2 Panels and workshops tailored to pet owners

As a millennial and a blogger, I read a lot of blogs about fashion, cooking, and travel. And also a lot of blogs about blogging. But it's surprisingly hard to find new ideas and helpful information specifically about running a pet blog. It was SO helpful to go to workshops that were specifically tackling really relevant topics like protecting the rights of your dog's Instagram photos and growing your Pinterest following within the pet community.

#3 All. The. Puppies.

Okay, this is just because I'm pup-obsessed, but BlogPaws is basically dog-lover heaven. There were adorable pups (and cats!) everywhere. I got to meet so many darling fur-babies and watch them munch on fresh-baked Whisk & Wag treats.

#4 Samples, Swag, and... secrets

Ever struggle to find new pet products to review on your blog? Hello, BlogPaws swag bag. We each got a monster tote full of toys, food samples, and treats. Between the swag bag and the many brand reps I met, I have a gazillion new content ideas and products I want to review. I even heard some rumors about secret, not-yet-released products... For instance, word on the street is that there's a new Whisk & Wag flavor coming this summer... (!!!) Watch their Insta for updates.

#5 Make Memories

I've always said that dog people are the best people on the internet. And it turns out they're also pretty great in real life.

During BlogPaws, I met so many kind and inspiring people who are passionate about helping pets live their best lives. I want to give a very special shout-out to Abby from Whisk & Wag (a fellow Doxie-mom!) who was absolutely wonderful to work with. I left BlogPaws with so many great memories and so many new friendsā€”both dogs and humans.

And Why I'll Be Back...

If you can't tell, I had an amazing first-time experience at BlogPaws. It was truly invaluable to swap ideas with other bloggers and meet so many pet industry pros. I loved all the memories I made this year and can't wait to make more next year. See you there! šŸ¾
