Anyone else have an overflowing fridge right now?
Josh and I have always lived in cities—Seattle and then NYC and then Seattle again—which means that we’ve always been more into the small fridge/nightly-grocery-run lifestyle than the biweekly-Costco-stock-up lifestyle.
But now that we’re trying to limit exposure to germs and our trips to the store, we suddenly have a VERY full fridge and freezer. I’m constantly trying to figure out how we can maximize our fridge and freezer to make our groceries last as long as possible.
And that’s why I was super excited when our friends at Spot & Tango said they had a revolutionary new product they wanted us to try—a fridge-free, fuss-free fresh dog food.
Yep, you read that right. UnKibble is the first “fresh dry” dog food. We’ve always loved that Spot & Tango’s fresh dog food options look like actual food, and (amazingly!) they managed to make a fridge-free option that does, too. You can spot familiar ingredients like carrots, cranberries, and sweet potatoes mixed in with the meats and whole grains.
To order your UnKibble, you take a short quiz about your dog’s lifestyle, weight, breed, and age. Then you’re given a selection of UnKibble options with an estimated daily cost for your dog. Currently, UnKibble comes in Chicken & Brown Rice, Beef & Barley, and Duck & Salmon.
UnKibble is also a bit less expensive than Spot & Tango’s normal fresh options. For Dave—our four-year-old dachshund—Spot & Tango’s original fresh food started at $3.15 a day while UnKibble started at $1.73 a day. Not too bad, right?
Personally, my favorite part is that each UnKibble order comes with a cute little customized scoop so you’re never giving your pup too much or too little. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
And, maybe this is a weird thing to care about, but I also realllly liked that UnKibble doesn’t smell gross. So many dry dog food options smell absolutely terrible, but UnKibble didn’t smell like anything. The Salmon option was a little fishy (for obvious reasons) but none of the flavors had that nauseating meat scent that you find in so many other brands.
Although my favorite part of UnKibble may have been the cute little scoop, the pups’ favorite part was definitely the taste. Neither of them usually like dry food, but they went absolutely crazy for their UnKibble. Plus, it seemed like it kept both of them happy and…ummm… digestively regular too.
Honestly, there’s nothing not to like about UnKibble—it’s full of pup-healthy ingredients, the price point is reasonable, and it makes mealtimes easy-peasy. We’ll definitely be ordering it again!
